Seventh Sanctum Create-a-god Contest!

Yes, it's the next Seventh Sanctum contest, the Deity Contest! If folks don't mind, please feel free to disseminate this in the relevant journals, communities, et al.

This contest runs from October 1st, 2005 to midnight EST, December 15th, 2005, at midnight.

Your Challenge: Your challenge for this contest is to draw and create a deity, god, goddess, demigod, etc. from the generator below:

Rules:

  • People may make up to two entries.
  • You may submit "for fun" entries as many times as you want.
  • You may use ANY medium as long as you can eventually put it on the web as an image - painting, CGI, cosplay, sculpture, etc.
  • It is reccomended that, wherever you store the image, you include the generated description with it, if possible. Additional commentary is optional.
  • Entries may be serious, silly, or whatever the creator pleases, but keep things within reasonable good taste. If your entry has nudity, it will be noted in the contest post, and it is your responsibility to ensure it is stored in a way that has proper warnings.
  • You are responsible for hosting your entry at your own site, deviantart, photobucket, or another such place etc. Direct submissions of art will be rejected.

To Submit:
You may submit your creation in one of several ways:

  • You may post a response with link to this livejournal entry.
  • You may post a response with link to this Message Board post.
  • You may use the "Send Comment" button at Seventh Sanctum.
  • You may email me at DragonScholar(at)gmail.com.
  • If your entry is not posted within three days, please re-submit it..

All entries must include a link to the art, and most importantly, the description you used so the judges can see how well you did. Please be sure that there is some way to contact you if you have won so you can get your prize - email, AIM, something specific tied to your submission.

Prizes

  • First Place (1) - a $35 gift certificate to amazon.com.
  • Runner Up (2) - a $20 gift certificate each to amazon.com.

How entries will be judged:

  1. How well the picture follows the description.
  2. How imaginatively the description is interpreted.
  3. How well the description is expanded on to create a detailed concept.
  4. Artistic quality,

Hoi! SS! First entry! :D (I hope)

So what does a sun goddess do with a satchel? Well, store the Sun there during the night!

Hmm..

call me greedy, but I honestly want to try and win the first prize.

If you already won at laest up as a runenrup, are we then, not allowed to enter the contest again?

Or can anyone, including past winners, allowed to enter?

Anyone can enter, so you're free to go for it again!

Heehee, decided to give this a go!

Here's my entry:

I've been told it looks like I hada /bit/ too much fun with teh heart... >.>; xD

Heeere's my entry! http://www.deviantart.com/view/23676644/
(Warning: includes unexplicit nudity and lots of blood and icky things!)

Also, I was wondering... what's an "atal"? I got this in several deity descriptions ("he/she carries an atal"), but I was never able to find a meaning for the word, or to puzzle out what else could have been meant by it! It's got me and my friends quite puzzled!

An atal is an arrow thrower. It's an obscure reference, admittedly, but I included it for diversity's sake. Sort of think of a slingshot that you use to launch arrows.

OK, maybe that's TOO obscure ;)

I was unable to find the word either on dictionary.com or wikipedia! But with your definition, I was able to find this article. Well, I learned something new today :D

Well bugger, I spelled it wrong. Thanks!

Here's my entry

Re: My entry!

I've got it entered!

Re: My entry!

Yay, thank you~

I swore I wouldn't cry...

...just curious as to what happened to the written contest? I mean, the site is a writer's tool in theory, and not everyone is so artistically inclined or able.

::weeps openly...::

Re: I swore I wouldn't cry...

Still haven't figured out how to DO it yet.

Contest Entry (please read)

Hello, my friend Clover (whom I share a livejournal with) has entered in your contest already, and I wanted to try it too. Here's a link to my DeviantArt page, with the picture. You can just go by my deviantart username if that works easier. Thank you! http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/24642470/

.:Crimson:.

Deity
This self-righteous goddess of the moon takes the form of a young woman with the traits of a baboon. She is short and has a curvy build. Her round eyes are obsidian. She is usually portrayed as wearing a simple suit of armor that is mostly silver in color, and which incorporates circle designs. She can vanish or appear easily.

Create-a-Deity Contest Entry

generated criteria: This god of travel takes the form of an adult man. He has a graceful build. He has no hair, but instead his head is covered in feathers. His wide eyes are chestnut. He has gray skin. He is usually portrayed as wearing a no-nonsense suit of armor and a charm. He carries a clock. His hands are large. He can transport anyone anywhere in the world. He sometimes takes the form of a living portal.

Re: Create-a-Deity Contest Entry

I'm posting it, thanks! If you could, link to the contest from your deviantart post - that way people can know just what you took on.

I hope this isn't too late!

I should not be entering this. ;___;

Goddess of Starvation

Er, e-mail is snogwarts@yahoo.com, though the best I'm hoping for is maybe a "Well, it's not the worst ever..." award. XD

Got it up and entered!

I need the original description to consider it a legitimate entry.

Foiled!

I always forget something. Like saving things I'll need later on.

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26427104/ or http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/liltigre/demonthingy.png

This pragmatic god of midnight takes the form of a young man. He is inhumanly tall and has a graceful build. He has no hair, but instead his head is covered in tentacle-like appendages. His eyes are like black pits. He has dark skin. He is usually portrayed nude. He carries an orb. He has eight arms. He has four pairs of bat-like wings. He is surrounded by a dark aura.

Last minute, wheee! Lemme know if it doesn't work, or if it gets booted off dA, since they're anal about showing phalluses.
